The absolute must-see is the Curonian Spit & Kursiu Nerija National Park, a remarkable 98-kilometer-long sand dune spit. Excursions here often visit the charming fishing village of Nida or the Hill of Witches in Juodkrantė. This requires a short ferry ride and a bus or taxi journey, taking up much of the day but is well worth the effort. For a closer attraction, the Lithuanian Sea Museum is located in a historic fort just a quick passenger ferry ride across the lagoon. Cruise visitors can also easily spend hours exploring Klaipeda's Old Town on foot, admiring the German 'fachwerk' architecture and discovering its many unique sculptures.

A popular nearby destination is the seaside resort town of Palanga, located about a 30-40 minute drive north of Klaipeda. It's famous for its beautiful sandy beaches, the bustling J.
