The most dominant attraction is the majestic The Rock of Gibraltar. Visitors can take a scenic cable car ride or a taxi tour to the top for breathtaking views and encounters with the resident Barbary macaques, Europe's only wild monkeys.

The Gibraltar Cruise Terminal is conveniently located on the western side of the territory, at the North Mole. It is approximately a 1-mile (1.6 km) walk to Casemates Square, the main entry point to the city center and Main Street. The walk is flat and takes about 15-20 minutes.

For those who prefer not to walk, taxis are readily available at the terminal. Many cruise lines also offer shuttle bus services to the town center for a small fee. Ships dock directly at the pier, so tendering is not required.

Another fantastic option is the Cable Car, which whisks you from the base to the Top of the Rock in just six minutes. For getting around the lower parts of the territory, a modern and efficient public bus system covers most areas. Taxis are also readily available at the cruise terminal and throughout town.

Gibraltar is famous for its duty-free shopping, making it a paradise for bargain hunters. The main shopping hub is the pedestrianized Main Street and its surrounding lanes, which are lined with a mix of familiar British high-street brands and local shops.
