Port Location
Because of its small size and shallow waters, cruise ships do not dock directly on Jost Van Dyke; instead, they anchor offshore and tender passengers into Great Harbour. The tender pier lands you right in the heart of the island’s main settlement, where you will immediately find several beach bars, local restaurants, and a few small shops.
While Great Harbour is highly walkable, reaching the highly popular White Bay requires a quick, inexpensive open-air taxi ride over the hill, as the walk can be steep and hot.
