History enthusiasts should explore the Château de Brest, a medieval castle housing the National Navy Museum, which offers commanding views of the harbor. For a relaxing stroll, the Cours Dajot provides a scenic promenade overlooking the commercial port and the famous Pont de Recouvrance.

Many passengers take an excursion to the medieval village of Locronan, located about 45 minutes away, known for its well-preserved granite architecture and film-set atmosphere. Another popular day trip is to Quimper, the cultural heart of Cornouaille roughly an hour's drive south, famous for its gothic cathedral and faience pottery. Visitors may also explore the dramatic cliffs of the Crozon Peninsula, offering spectacular natural scenery within an hour's reach.

Cruise ships typically dock at the commercial port (Port de Commerce), which is located below the city center. Prices are fixed in shops, and bargaining is not customary in this region.
