The top attraction in Seville is the magnificent Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Be sure to climb the Giralda bell tower for panoramic views of the city.

Right next to the cathedral is the Alcázar of Seville, a breathtaking royal palace complex renowned for its Mudéjar architecture and lush gardens. It is highly recommended to book tickets in advance for both the Cathedral and Alcázar to avoid long queues.

A short walk away is the stunning Plaza de España, a monumental plaza known for its beautiful tilework and canal. You can also get lost in the charming, narrow streets of the historic Santa Cruz quarter, the city's former Jewish ghetto. All these sights are easily accessible from the cruise port.

Another excellent option is Jerez de la Frontera, the heart of Spain's sherry production. Approximately one hour away by train, visitors can tour sherry bodegas and see the famous dancing horses at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art.

For a glimpse into a fortified Andalusian town, consider visiting Carmona, which is about a 30-40 minute bus or taxi ride from Seville and offers impressive Roman ruins and historic charm.

The Port of Seville's cruise terminal, Muelle de las Delicias, is uniquely situated on the Guadalquivir River, very close to the heart of the city. This prime location means that many of Seville's main attractions are within walking distance.

The terminal is located adjacent to the Parque de María Luisa and is approximately a 15-20 minute scenic walk to the historic city center. Because of this proximity, cruise line shuttles are often unnecessary for able-bodied passengers.

The port area itself has some cafes and is very pleasant for a stroll, but it does not have extensive shopping facilities. Ships dock directly at the pier, so no tendering is required to get ashore.

The official currency in Seville is the Euro (€). US Dollars are not accepted for transactions, so you will need to use Euros for all cash purchases.

Seville experiences a hot-summer Mediterranean climate, making spring and autumn the ideal cruise seasons. Summers are extremely hot and dry, while winters are mild with some rainfall.

During the popular spring (April-June) and fall (September-October) months, expect very pleasant weather with average temperatures ranging from 15°C to 28°C (60°F-82°F). These seasons offer plenty of sunshine perfect for sightseeing.

If your cruise visits during the summer, be prepared for intense heat, as temperatures frequently exceed 35°C (95°F). While you can easily explore on foot, a short taxi ride or a trip on the C1 or C2 circular bus lines can be convenient for reaching the farther parts of the historic district quickly.

Seville offers fantastic shopping opportunities, centered around the pedestrianized streets of Calle Sierpes and Calle Tetuán. These bustling thoroughfares are lined with a mix of international brands, Spanish department stores, and traditional shops.

For authentic local souvenirs, look for beautiful ceramics, particularly from the Triana neighborhood across the river. Other popular items include flamenco-related goods like fans and shawls, high-quality leather products, and gourmet foods such as Iberian ham and local olive oil.
